Onboarding Friction for EU-based Prop Firms – My Experience

Been looking at a few prop firms based out of the EU recently, specifically those advertising tighter spreads on $EURUSD and $XAUUSD for larger capital accounts. What's striking is the variation in the KYC/AML process. Some are smooth, practically automated, running checks in minutes. Others, however, are a real grind – weeks of back-and-forth for basic documentation, even with a clean record and a well-established trading history. It makes me wonder about their back-office efficiency and, by extension, potential payout reliability down the line. Is anyone else encountering this significant disparity? It's not just the time involved, but the nature of the requests that sometimes feels… uncoordinated.

Question on Prop Firm Payout Reliability and Liquidity Provision

Hey everyone, been a long-time lurker, first-time poster in the Brokers room. I'm actively looking to scale up a bit and have been exploring various prop firm models, primarily for discretionary spot crypto and some $EURUSD pairs. My main hang-up isn't so much the evaluation process itself, but rather the backend infrastructure once you're funded.

Specifically, I'm curious about the experiences folks have had regarding payout reliability with prop firms. It's one thing to hit targets, it's another to consistently get those payouts processed without excessive delays or opaque fees eating into the margins. Are there common red flags to watch for in their terms of service regarding withdrawals? Also, on the liquidity side, for those trading larger crypto positions, have you ever run into issues where the firm's provided liquidity (or lack thereof) impacted your ability to execute at desired prices, particularly during volatile swings? Any insights, good or bad, would be super helpful as I'm trying to do proper due diligence before committing.

Onboarding friction with new crypto PSPs

Anyone else finding the KYB process with newer crypto-focused PSPs increasingly clunky? Specifically, trying to integrate a few for altcoin payouts, and the documentation requirements coupled with the slow verification times are becoming a real bottleneck. It's not just the initial setup, but also the periodic re-verification demands impacting operational flow. Curious if others have found specific workarounds or if this is just the new reality for maintaining robust compliance.

KYB bottlenecks for a new prop firm account

Anyone else finding the Know Your Business process for new prop firm accounts increasingly cumbersome? Seems like every outfit wants a slightly different set of documents, or their upload portal has a different maximum file size. It's not a huge hurdle, but it definitely adds days, sometimes weeks, to what should be a relatively straightforward onboarding for what amounts to a small corporate account.

Onboarding Friction with Offshore vs. Regulated Brokers for Larger Positions

Curious to hear about others' recent experiences regarding onboarding and KYC/KYB with brokers, especially when looking to fund larger accounts. I've been doing some due diligence myself and finding a noticeable disparity in the hoops you have to jump through between different jurisdictions.

Specifically, the process with some of the more established, well-regulated entities (think FCA/ASIC licensed) feels increasingly burdensome, with lengthy documentation requests and extended verification times. While I appreciate the intent behind the rigor, it can genuinely delay getting capital deployed. On the flip side, some of the offshore options promise a much quicker setup, but then you're left to weigh the counterparty risk against that convenience. For those managing substantial liquidity or looking to scale up their trading, where do you find the sweet spot? Are there any particular regions or regulatory frameworks that seem to strike a better balance between compliance and efficiency these days?

KYB friction and multi-jurisdictional setups

Anyone else finding the KYB process for new brokers or PSPs increasingly tedious, especially when dealing with entities across different regulatory landscapes? The documentation requirements seem to multiply, and the verification times are becoming a real drag on onboarding new counterparties. Curious if others are encountering similar bottlenecks and if anyone has found a more streamlined approach for firms operating in multiple jurisdictions.

Anyone else finding KYC/KYB on new prop firms a bit of a moving target lately?

Been looking at a few of the newer prop firms, especially some that offer truly competitive spreads on $EURUSD and good leverage for non-US folks. Problem is, the KYC/KYB process seems to be wildly inconsistent. One minute it's straightforward, then the next I'm being asked for utility bills from the last 30 days only, or a bank statement that explicitly shows my address AND account number on the same page – which not all banks provide cleanly. It's not a deal-breaker, but it definitely adds friction and extends the onboarding. Wondering if it's just me experiencing this or if anyone else is seeing these varying requirements and what your workaround has been.

KYB/Onboarding - Brokers

Onboarding headaches with new proprietary firms

Anyone else finding the KYB process with some of the newer prop firms to be an absolute circus? It's like they've never encountered a non-resident alien or a multi-jurisdictional business entity before. I swear, sometimes I think they're trying to weed out anyone with a tax filing more complex than a crayon drawing. The hoops I jump through just to get funded, it makes me wonder if they actually want traders on board or if it's just a compliance theatre.

Anyone else hitting major walls with PSP onboarding lately?

Seems like every payment service provider I've looked at in the last six months for a new brokerage partnership is just... glacial. Or they want enough documentation to build a small nation-state. What used to be a reasonably straightforward process is now weeks of back-and-forth, often with opaque reasoning for delays. Curious if this is just my experience, or if the compliance pendulum has swung so hard it's taken out the entire industry's efficiency. Specifically, any insights into what seems to be tripping up the KYB process most frequently for forex/crypto related businesses these days? It's getting tougher to onboard new clients when the financial plumbing feels like it's made of sand.

KYC/AML

Anyone else finding KYC/KYB on new prop firms a bit much lately?

Been looking at a few new prop firms to diversify some capital and the onboarding process seems to have gotten even more stringent over the last year or so. I get the need for robust KYC/AML, especially with larger sums, but some of these hoops feel less about compliance and more about a deterrent for smaller traders. Identity verification, proof of address, source of funds declarations that feel like a full audit – it just takes days to get through sometimes, even with everything in order. Is this just the new normal, or are some firms over-indexing? Curious to hear if others are experiencing similar friction when trying to get set up.

Onboarding speed and documentation requests for prop firm payouts – any recent experiences?

Hey everyone, just curious if anyone's gone through the onboarding process with a new prop firm recently, specifically regarding the payout aspect. I'm finding some varied experiences with how quickly they process the KYC/KYB for withdrawals and what kind of documentation they're asking for beyond the initial setup. It feels like some are getting more granular with bank statements and source of funds than I remember from a few years back, even for relatively small amounts. Just wondering if this is a new trend or if I'm just hitting a stricter patch.

KYB Friction with Smaller PSPs for Crypto Payouts

Anyone else finding the Know Your Business process for some of the newer, smaller payment service providers (PSPs) handling crypto payouts to be an absolute minefield? It feels like every new outfit has a slightly different interpretation of what's sufficient, leading to endless document requests and delays. It's becoming a real drag on getting client funds out efficiently, especially for anything beyond straight fiat rails.

Onboarding speed and funding friction with newer prop firms

Anyone else noticing a significant variability in KYB turnaround times with some of the newer proprietary trading firms? It seems like funding channels, especially for crypto deposits or larger bank wires, are often the bottleneck once identity is verified. I'm less concerned with the spread differences between firms and more with the operational efficiency on the back end for getting capital deployed quickly.

Onboarding Friction for Corporate Accounts and Multiple Jurisdictions

Curious to hear from others who operate a trading entity across different regulatory landscapes, particularly those dealing with multiple PSPs or brokerages for various asset classes. We've been experiencing significant drag in the onboarding and KYB processes for our corporate accounts. It seems every entity, regardless of previous verification or reputation, treats each new application as if it's the first time they've encountered a legitimate trading firm.

The real headache starts when trying to get a consistent level of service or even just sensible documentation requirements across different jurisdictions for what is essentially the same beneficial owner. Some brokers have reasonable requests, while others demand documents that are practically non-existent for our setup, leading to weeks of back-and-forth. This isn't about hiding anything; it's about the sheer inefficiency. Anyone else dealing with this kind of friction, especially with new crypto-focused prime brokers or liquidity providers? Are there any setups or strategies you've found that streamline this, or is it just the cost of doing business in a highly regulated, yet inconsistently applied, global market?

Onboarding Friction with Smaller Brokers - KYC vs. KYC

Anyone else finding that some of these smaller, ostensibly 'innovative' brokers have a KYC process that feels like it was designed in the last century? My last attempt to onboard with one was a multi-day email chain for docs that my bank processed in five minutes; makes you wonder about their operational efficiency more broadly.

The KYC/AML Gauntlet and Broker Onboarding for Corporate Accounts

Anyone else feel like setting up a corporate trading account with a new broker these days requires an act of Congress, a blood sample, and a signed affidavit from your grandmother? I'm trying to get a new prop firm onboarded for some slightly larger-scale strategies, nothing crazy, just a few different desks under one roof, and the KYC/AML process is an absolute nightmare. It's not just the sheer volume of documents – articles of incorporation, proof of address for every director and significant shareholder, source of funds for the company, source of wealth for the individuals… I get the need for compliance, really I do. But the back-and-forth, the requests for documents they already have, the forms that magically change requirements mid-submission. It feels less like due diligence and more like an endurance test designed to see if you'll just give up and go back to individual accounts. Does anyone have a broker or payment service provider (PSP) they've worked with recently on the corporate side that actually made this process relatively painless? Or is this just the new normal, a bureaucratic purgatory we all have to suffer through to move any serious capital around?

KYB for prop firm payouts – any faster options?

Been looking at a few different prop firms lately, mostly for forex pairs ($EURUSD, $GBPUSD). The funding models look appealing, but the KYB process for payouts seems to be a consistent bottleneck. It's often slower than setting up a new bank account.

Anyone found a prop firm or even a payout provider that's genuinely streamlined this, especially for international transfers? Just curious if I'm missing something obvious or if it's just the nature of the beast.

KYB/Onboarding Friction with European Brokers - Any Shared Experiences?

Curious if others are seeing increased friction during Know Your Business (KYB) onboarding with EU-based brokers lately, especially regarding source of funds for prop accounts. It feels like the documentation requests are getting a lot more granular, sometimes bordering on intrusive, beyond what I've experienced previously. Any thoughts on how to streamline this without compromising compliance or switching jurisdictions entirely?
