It's a double-edged sword though. A strong dollar can also hurt US exporters. We need to watch that balance.

ADX is my go-to. I look for the ADX line to be above 25, and ideally trending upwards, which indicates strong trend momentum. The DI+ and DI- crossing over also provide good directional confirmation.

Interesting observation. I was wondering what was causing those sudden whipsaws. Good to know it wasn't just my imagination.
