FOMO-ing into meme coins back in 2021 was a painful lesson
Looking back at the tail end of the 2021 bull run, I got caught up in the hype surrounding some of the new meme coins popping up daily. I'd had a decent run on $ETH and $BTC, felt pretty good, and then started seeing these crazy pumps. Logic went out the window.
I chased a few, convinced myself I was early on the next big one, and pretty much just threw capital at anything with a dog or rocket in its name. The worst part was that I knew better. I'd built a plan around fundamental analysis and technical levels for my main holdings, but then abandoned it completely for these low-cap, high-risk plays. Ended up losing a good chunk of profit from my earlier, more disciplined trades. It was a clear case of FOMO clouding judgment and forgetting my own rules.
It's interesting how those 'crazy pumps' can make even rational investors question their strategy. Was there anything specific that made you finally step back from chasing them, or did it just slowly dawn on you?
