The price of chasing every pump: a lesson in discipline

My biggest mistake in crypto, and one I periodically still have to fight, is the urge to chase every single coin that's making headlines. I'm talking about seeing $SOL fly 50% in a day, then thinking, "Okay, what's the next $SOL?" and diving headfirst into some project with a low market cap and even lower fundamentals, purely based on Twitter hype. The worst part is not even the losses on those individual trades, though they add up. It's the opportunity cost. While I'm busy losing money on speculative garbage, the assets I'd actually studied and had conviction in are quietly grinding higher. It's a classic case of FOMO leading to overtrading and distraction from my core thesis. Sticking to a watchlist, pre-defined entry criteria, and resisting the urge to jump ship on solid positions for quick pumps is a battle I'm constantly fighting.

Ah, the siren song of the next big thing. It's almost as if my portfolio enjoys a good workout, constantly shedding the dead weight of 'what ifs' that never quite make it to 'what actually happened.'
