Onboarding & KYB Friction for Higher Volume Crypto Payments
Curious if others are encountering similar hurdles with onboarding and KYB processes when dealing with crypto payment providers for anything beyond basic retail volumes. It feels like many providers are still operating with a traditional finance mindset for AML/CTF, which isn't inherently bad, but the practical application for crypto can be a real drag.
Specifically, the depth of source of wealth/funds documentation requested for relatively modest commercial throughput, combined with often protracted review times, is becoming a significant bottleneck. It's not uncommon to spend weeks, sometimes months, providing granular detail on wallet histories, exchange origins, and even business operational revenue streams that feel disproportionate to the actual risk profile for an established entity simply integrating crypto payments. Are there any providers out there truly streamlining this for legitimate businesses, or is it still largely a game of patience and extensive paperwork for anyone processing more than a few $BTC equivalent a month?
