Onboarding Friction for Multi-Jurisdictional Entities

Curious to hear others' experiences navigating KYB/AML with various payment processors and brokers, particularly for entities registered in multiple jurisdictions. We're finding significant inconsistencies in document requirements and processing times, often delaying market access for new ventures. The discrepancy isn't just country-to-country, but even within providers for different service lines. Is this par for the course, or are there providers truly excelling at streamlining this for complex corporate structures?

Onboarding for new fund structures – KYC/AML pain points with new banks

Anyone else hitting major friction lately when trying to onboard new fund structures with traditional banking partners? It seems like every new entity, even with the same underlying beneficial owners, triggers a complete reset of the KYC/AML process, sometimes taking months. This is especially true for anything with a non-standard operating model or multiple layers of legal entities. How are you guys streamlining this without resorting to the same handful of crypto-friendly banks that might not offer the full suite of services?

Onboarding Friction for Mid-Sized Proprietary Trading Firms

We're a prop firm with decent AUM and looking to expand our execution counterparties beyond the two we currently leverage. The issue isn't finding brokers; it's the sheer friction during KYB for what feels like every single one. Even with our compliance team providing all necessary documentation upfront, the process often drags on for weeks, sometimes months, with repetitive requests for information already submitted. It's a significant time sink for senior personnel. Has anyone found a workaround or a particular tier of broker/PSP that is genuinely more efficient for established, albeit not institutional, entities? Or is this just the new norm post-MiFID II/Dodd-Frank?

Onboarding pain points for new prop firm accounts

Anyone else finding the KYB process for newer prop firms incredibly fragmented? Seems like every firm has a slightly different set of hoops – document validation, liveness checks, proof of address utility bills that somehow never quite meet the criteria. It's a significant time sink when trying to diversify capital across several entities. What are your biggest friction points, and have you found any firms doing it particularly well or poorly in terms of efficiency?

Anyone else hitting onboarding friction with newer fiat on/off-ramps for crypto?

Been looking at a few of the newer generation payment service providers for handling fiat on/off-ramps for some crypto-related ventures we're working on. The fee structures look competitive, especially compared to some of the old guard, and liquidity seems decent for now. However, the onboarding and KYB processes are a nightmare. It feels like they're trying to re-invent the wheel with document requirements and verification steps that are far more onerous than traditional banking, even for straightforward corporate accounts. Is this just par for the course with anything touching crypto and fiat these days, or have some of you found providers who've actually streamlined this without compromising compliance? Curious if there's a specific angle I should be pushing from our side to make it smoother, or if it's just a case of grinding through it until they mature.

Merchant Account Solutions for High-Risk Industries

Finding reliable and reasonably priced merchant account solutions for certain 'high-risk' industries (e.g., online gaming, adult entertainment, specific digital services) remains a persistent challenge. Any recommendations for banks or payment processors that have a more pragmatic approach to underwriting these sectors, particularly for businesses incorporated offshore?

Regulatory Landscape for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) in Seychelles

There's growing interest in Seychelles for VASP licensing, given its flexible regulatory framework. However, potential applicants should be aware of the practicalities surrounding correspondent banking relationships. While the FSA is accommodating, securing reliable banking for crypto-related businesses remains a significant hurdle. Many traditional banks are still hesitant, leading to reliance on a limited number of specialized institutions.

It's a critical point often overlooked in initial planning. Does anyone have recent positive experiences or recommendations for banking partners for Seychelles-registered VASPs?

Update: Belize IFZA/IEC Registration Timeline

For those interested in offshore corporate structuring, particularly in Belize, I've noticed a slight but consistent increase in the timeline for IFZA/IEC registrations over the last quarter. Previously, we could reliably expect approvals within 3-4 weeks for complete applications. We're now seeing some cases extend to 5-6 weeks, primarily due to heightened due diligence requirements at the registrar level.

My advice remains: plan ahead, ensure all UBO documentation is impeccable, and anticipate potential follow-up requests. Has anyone else observed similar delays in other jurisdictions like Nevis or BVI?

Discussion: Regulatory Landscape for Digital Asset Service Providers (DASP)

The regulatory environment for DASPs is rapidly evolving globally. With MiCA coming into full effect in the EU, and varying approaches from FINRA, MAS, HKMA, etc., navigating compliance is a significant challenge. How are others in the space structuring their operations to meet multi-jurisdictional requirements? Specifically interested in licensing and capital requirements for tokenization platforms.
