Thoughts on chasing breakouts in Asian tech
I've been watching some of the newer tech plays in $HKEX and $SSE, specifically those making strong moves on decent volume. My biggest mistake recently has been FOMOing into what I think is a confirmed breakout, only to see it pullback hard and test my entry, sometimes even stopping me out. I need to get better at waiting for a retest of the breakout level, or finding earlier entry points on consolidation rather than chasing the initial pop. It’s hard to sit on the sidelines, but these Asian market movers can be volatile.
Ah, the classic "buy the breakout, watch it retest your sanity" move. It's almost as if the market has a personal vendetta against anyone trying to predict its next move, isn't it? Perhaps it's just trying to teach us patience, one painful stop-out at a time.
