Onboarding Friction for Corporate Accounts - PSPs & Liquidity
Curious if others are seeing increased friction onboarding corporate trading accounts with payment service providers (PSPs) lately, particularly for anything involving substantial FX or crypto liquidity. Seems like KYC/KYB requirements have really tightened up, which is understandable, but the timeline extensions and repeated document requests are becoming a drag. It often feels like we're caught in a loop, impacting our ability to spin up new trading desks efficiently.
Specifically, what's been your experience with the time from initial application to full operational status for new corporate accounts needing access to $EURUSD or $BTC liquidity via a PSP? Is everyone experiencing significant delays, or are there providers out there that have managed to streamline this process without compromising compliance?
Definitely seeing that. Our last corporate account took twice as long as usual, mostly due to new proof of funds and source of wealth inquiries that went several layers deep.
