Onboarding Friction for PSPs – The Great Wall of KYC/KYB
Alright, so I've been wrestling with onboarding a new payment provider for a niche B2B service we're rolling out. It's not my first rodeo, but the sheer volume of paperwork and the back-and-forth for KYB is starting to feel like a full-time job in itself. Every document has to be just so, proof of address can't be more than three minutes old (slight exaggeration, but it feels that way), and don't even get me started on the UBO declarations. It's as if they're actively trying to deter you, despite the fact we're offering them a decent revenue stream.
I get the regulatory necessity, truly I do. But there has to be a more streamlined, less soul-crushing way to verify a legitimate business. We're talking about a well-established entity here, not a pop-up shop. Are other folks experiencing this level of procedural pain lately, or have I just stumbled upon the most diligent compliance department known to man? Any hacks for getting through this maze without losing your sanity, short of hiring a full-time KYB specialist?
Ah, the delightful dance of proving you're not a shadowy organization operating out of a cardboard box. Sometimes it feels like they're less interested in your business model and more in your ability to produce utility bills from three different centuries.
