Anyone else finding KYC/KYB a never-ending saga for new partners?
Running a small payment processing operation and lately, every new banking partner or liquidity provider feels like a full-time job just getting through their onboarding. The paperwork's one thing, but the constant back-and-forth on documentation that was supposedly sufficient a week ago is killing me. We're talking established businesses with solid compliance, not fly-by-night ops. It's not just the time sink; it's the missed opportunities when we're ready to integrate but stuck in documentation purgatory.
Are others experiencing this increased friction? Is it just the current regulatory climate making everyone hyper-cautious, or are some of these larger institutions just inefficient by design? What strategies have you found effective to streamline the process, beyond having a dedicated compliance person on staff (which we do)? We're trying to expand into a few niche markets, and it feels like we spend more time validating ourselves than actually building.
