Onboarding & KYB Woes for Smaller PSPs/Aggregators
Hey everyone,
I'm curious to hear about others' experiences, particularly for those of us on the smaller to mid-tier side when it comes to onboarding with larger financial institutions or even other PSPs for specific services. We've been hitting a wall recently with the KYB process being incredibly protracted, often requiring documentation that feels disproportionate to our transaction volumes or operational scale. It's not just the initial KYC; it's the ongoing demands, sometimes for the same docs we provided just months ago, or vague requests that tie up our compliance team for days trying to decipher.
Are others seeing this too, or is it perhaps just a bad run of luck on our end? It feels like the larger players are just ticking boxes without really understanding the operational realities of smaller entities, creating significant friction that impacts our ability to scale or integrate new payment rails efficiently. Specifically, I'm thinking about integrating new alternative payment methods which often means navigating a fresh set of KYB hurdles with each new provider. Any thoughts or strategies on how to streamline this without compromising compliance would be genuinely appreciated.
