Onboarding Friction for PSPs – Anyone Else Seeing Red Flags Lately?

Been pondering the onboarding process with a few prospective PSPs lately, and I'm genuinely curious if others are experiencing similar friction points, particularly when scaling operations. It seems like the landscape has shifted, or perhaps I'm just looking at the wrong segment of providers. I'm finding that the initial KYB stages are becoming incredibly granular, bordering on intrusive, for what seems to be fairly standard transaction volumes.

Specifically, the turnaround times for even basic documentation review are stretching out, impacting our ability to launch new services on schedule. Beyond that, the lack of clarity on what specific risk parameters trigger these prolonged reviews is a real frustration. It feels like a black box sometimes. Has anyone found PSPs that are particularly efficient in their onboarding without compromising on compliance, especially for businesses dealing with higher-frequency, lower-value transactions where the cumulative risk profile is different from, say, large-ticket B2B? Or is this just the new norm we have to factor into our operational timelines now?

It's interesting you bring this up. I'm relatively new to navigating PSPs, but I've definitely felt the KYB process is a lot more intense than I anticipated. Is this mostly for larger operations, or are even smaller businesses seeing this level of scrutiny now?
