Payout Reliability & Fee Structures with Smaller PSPs
We've been using a larger, established PSP for a while now, largely for the peace of mind regarding payout reliability and the perceived lower risk. However, their fee structure for certain transaction types, particularly micro-transactions or those involving specific alternative payment methods, is starting to eat into margins more than anticipated.
Considering a move, or at least a parallel setup, with a smaller, more niche PSP that offers better rates on those specific transaction types. The main hang-up is always payout reliability. With the larger guys, you know the funds will eventually clear. With smaller outfits, especially those focused on more 'edge' payment solutions, there's always that question mark. Has anyone had recent experience, good or bad, with transitioning significant volume to a smaller PSP and maintaining consistent, predictable payout schedules? Any red flags or specific questions to press them on beyond the standard KYB/AML checks to truly gauge their financial stability and operational resilience?
