Onboarding Friction for PSPs in Emerging Markets

Curious if others are seeing increased friction during KYB/onboarding with PSPs when operating in less established markets, especially concerning corporate structure verification and UBO identification; seems to be a real bottleneck.

We've definitely seen that. The UBO verification is a particular headache, especially when you're dealing with multiple layers of holding companies in jurisdictions not known for their corporate transparency. It slows everything down considerably.

Absolutely. We're seeing the same. The UBO verification is a huge time sink, and the goalposts seem to move constantly, making it tough to get things done efficiently.

Absolutely, it's not just you. The UBO verification in emerging markets has become a significant choke point; due diligence requirements have definitely ramped up, slowing everything down considerably.

We've definitely encountered this. The lack of centralized, reliable databases for corporate registrations and beneficial ownership in some emerging markets makes the UBO process particularly cumbersome for PSPs, leading to extended onboarding times.
