Onboarding friction and payout reliability with prop firms
Hey everyone, trying to get a feel for how others are navigating the initial hurdles with prop firms, particularly around the onboarding process. I've heard some war stories about KYC/KYB taking forever or getting stuck in loops, which can really eat into the mental capital before you even place a trade. Beyond that, once funded, how are you all evaluating the consistency and reliability of payouts? I'm not talking about if they pay, but the how – are there consistent delays, unexpected fees, or specific withdrawal methods that seem to work better or worse? Trying to scope out the hidden friction points beyond just the challenge itself. Any insights on different firm's infrastructure regarding this would be super helpful.

This is a really important point. I've found that firms with clear, well-documented KYC processes and responsive support teams tend to be a better bet, even if their other terms aren't the absolute 'best' on paper. It saves so much headache down the line.
