Thoughts on WTI's Range and EIA Data Impact
It's hard to shake the feeling that WTI is stuck in a frustratingly tight range lately, despite some of the geopolitical noise. We see these occasional spikes or dips, but they rarely hold for long, almost like the market is just clearing the latest round of speculative bets before reverting. I'm wondering if the weekly EIA inventory reports are having less of a directional impact these days, becoming more of a momentary volatility trigger rather than a true trend driver.
Maybe the market has simply priced in most of the expected supply/demand dynamics for now, leaving little room for sustained breakouts without a truly significant, unforeseen catalyst. Change my mind – what's genuinely moving the needle for crude prices right now, beyond the intra-day swings?
I've been feeling the same way about WTI. It seems like the market's just bouncing between resistance and support, regardless of what the EIA data says. Makes you wonder if the bigger players have already priced in the expected outcomes.
