Thoughts on CAD and the oil pivot

Been watching $CAD closely, especially after seeing it flatline around 95.879 today. It feels like the market's still trying to price in what's next for oil, and by extension, the Canadian dollar. With Brent hovering, it's not giving a clear directional signal, which makes Kalshi contracts around CAD/USD particularly interesting right now. Are we going to see a sustained push, or is this just consolidation before a pullback?

The broader macro picture, specifically central bank tone globally, is casting a long shadow. The BOC has been relatively quiet lately, but if other major central banks start shifting their stance on rates, that could very quickly filter down and create some volatility in CAD. I'm keeping a very close eye on any hints of changes in economic outlook that might provide some clearer catalysts for a move. It's less about a specific event and more about the confluence of minor data points painting a new picture for the currency.

The 'oil pivot' narrative feels a bit overused. CAD strength lately has more to do with the broader USD weakness than a strong directional signal from Brent, which is still quite range-bound. Hard to see a sustained push without a clearer catalyst.
