Watching the PCE and ETH/USD movement for potential Kalshi plays

The PCE data release later this week is going to be a big one for short-term sentiment, especially after the latest round of Fedspeak hinted at sustained hawkishness. I'm keeping a close eye on the Kalshi contracts tied to inflation metrics. If we get a print that's hotter than expected, the market's current rate-cut expectations could unwind further, which would likely add pressure to risk assets.

Specifically, I'm watching $ETHUSD. It's been hovering around the $1877 mark today, pretty range-bound after yesterday's slight dip. A strong PCE could see it test lower bounds, perhaps even the $1850 area if the broader crypto market reacts negatively. Conversely, a cooler PCE might give it some room to run back towards $1900. I'm thinking about positioning around the "PCE Core YoY < 4.0%" contract on Kalshi, depending on the pre-release whispers and how $ETHUSD behaves in the lead-up. $Y hasn't moved an inch today, but it often lags; a sustained risk-off could see it take a hit too, albeit indirectly for most Kalshi plays.

That's a solid point about the PCE data impacting rate-cut expectations. I'm curious if you're also looking at the employment components within the PCE, as those often seem to get overlooked in favor of the headline inflation numbers.

That's a solid read on the PCE's potential impact. I'm curious how you're weighting the specific components of the report given how much some of the 'stickier' inflation elements have factored into the Fed's recent commentary.
