Gold Holding $1980, Watching the Range

Been watching XAUUSD pretty closely the past few sessions. We seem to be holding the $1980 level with some decent support, which isn't entirely unexpected given the prior price action around that area. The more interesting development for me is the increasingly tight range that's developing. We've got pretty clear resistance forming around the $2000-2005 zone. If we get a sustained break and close above $2005, then I'd have to reconsider the current consolidative thesis, as that would suggest a re-test of higher highs is likely. Conversely, a decisive close below $1980 would indicate this support is breaking down and could open the door for a move towards the $1960 area, which has also been a battleground recently. Right now, it feels like a waiting game within these boundaries.

Watching for a move in XAUUSD around 2300

Been spending some time on the charts this morning, particularly XAUUSD. After the recent consolidation, I'm watching the 2300 level pretty closely. We've seen it act as a significant pivot point multiple times in the past few weeks, both as support and resistance. It feels like a key psychological and technical area.

My current read is that if we get a decisive break and hold above 2300 on a daily close, especially with some volume confirmation, it could open the door for a retest of the recent highs around 2350-2360. On the flip side, a strong rejection from 2300, or a break below and failure to regain it, would invalidate that bullish scenario for me. In that case, I'd expect a potential move back towards the 2270-2280 range. Just my two cents, always keeping an eye on the broader market sentiment and DXY.

XAUUSD - Eyeing the 2300 region again

Watching $XAUUSD closely here. We've retested the 2300 area multiple times, and it's holding as support for now. I'm looking for a potential bounce if we can consolidate above it, perhaps towards 2330-2340. The risk for this idea is a clear break and sustained close below 2290; that would invalidate the current mini-range structure and open up lower levels.

XAUUSD - Thoughts on the 2300 level

Been watching gold closely this week. That 2300 level on XAUUSD feels like a critical pivot point right now. We've seen it act as both support and resistance recently, and the reaction around it seems to dictate the short-term direction. If we can hold above it and consolidate, then a retest of 2330-2340 looks plausible. On the flip side, a convincing break and hold below 2290 would definitely shift the sentiment for me, potentially opening up a path towards 2260. I'm mindful of the broader dollar strength influencing things, so any significant move there could invalidate my read on gold's immediate technicals.

XAUUSD - Eyeing that 2300-2310 zone again

I'm watching $XAUUSD closely around that 2300-2310 resistance zone. We've seen it act as a stubborn ceiling recently, and a solid break above with some conviction could open up a move towards 2330-2340. The risk for this scenario, in my humble opinion, would be a strong rejection off that area, perhaps with a clear daily close back below 2290, which could signal a retracement back towards the 2270s. As always, the market loves to keep us on our toes, so I'm not betting the farm just yet.

XAUUSD - The 1920-1930 range re-test

Been watching XAUUSD closely this week. That re-test of the 1920-1930 range feels pretty critical. We’ve seen some decent bounces off it before, but the current macro backdrop is different, and the conviction isn't as strong on this most recent test. A clear break and sustained close below 1920 would seriously undermine the current bullish structure I'm tracking, suggesting a deeper correction could be in play, potentially towards the 1880 area. Conversely, a solid hold and a move back above 1945 would be a good sign that buyers are still defending this level with some intent.

Watching XAUUSD at that 2040 level – anyone else seeing potential exhaustion?

Hey everyone, fairly new to posting here, but I've been watching XAUUSD pretty closely lately. While the broader uptrend has been strong, I'm starting to see some signs of what could be exhaustion as we approach the 2040ish area. It's not a hard ceiling by any means, but looking at the daily, we've had a few tests there that haven't produced sustained breakouts, and each push seems to be met with quick retracements. The price action just feels a bit stretched.

My concern for a more significant pullback or consolidation would be if we see a solid daily close below 2020. That would invalidate my current thought process on this short-term resistance and suggest that the selling pressure is actually gaining traction. I'm not calling for a top or anything, just wondering if others are seeing similar price behavior around this zone and preparing for some choppiness. Always good to hear other perspectives.

XAUUSD - Watching the 1870 Level Closely

Been looking at $XAUUSD for a potential bounce, but the persistent pressure around the 1870 level is concerning. We've seen a few attempts to break above it, but each time it's been rejected fairly swiftly. To me, it suggests that there's significant supply or simply a lack of conviction from buyers at these levels.

My take is that if we fail to establish a sustained move above 1870 in the next couple of sessions, then the risk of a deeper pullback increases significantly. A clear break and close below 1850 would, in my view, invalidate any short-term bullish outlook and likely open the door towards the 1820-1830 zone. Still observing, not committing yet.

Watching XAUUSD at $2300

Been observing XAUUSD for a while, and that $2300 level seems to be a significant line in the sand. It's acted as support several times recently, but the bounces have been less conviction. If it breaks decisively below $2300, my scenario for a retest of $2260-$2270 comes into play, with the current setup invalidated if it pushes back above $2325.

XAUUSD retesting a key zone, watching for confirmation

Watching $XAUUSD closely here. We've retraced back to that 2300-2310 area, which has acted as pretty strong support/resistance over the past few weeks. The bounce yesterday was decent, but it's not a strong conviction move yet. I'm looking for a clear hold above 2315 to confirm this level is holding as support again, otherwise a break below 2300 opens up a move towards 2280 quite quickly. The macro picture with $KESUSD still choppy keeps some bids under gold, but the dollar strength narrative is also present.

Gold's Grumpy Sideways Grind - Still Watching 1980/1950

Anyone else feeling like XAUUSD is just… tired? It's been a real slugfest, hasn't it, especially after that little pop we saw. I'm still trying to make sense of this consolidation, which feels more like a grumpy sideways grind than any sort of re-accumulation. My eyes are really glued to the $1980 area on the upside. It’s been a brick wall multiple times, and until we get a convincing close above that, I'm not seeing much reason for exuberance. The bears are certainly not giving up easily there.

On the flip side, the $1950 zone seems to be providing some decent support. We've wicked through it a few times, but the bounces have been relatively quick. If we start seeing sustained closes below $1950, my current thesis of a larger range-bound move would be severely challenged. I'd then be looking for a potential retest of $1920 or even lower. It's a tricky market right now, requiring a bit more patience than my usual caffeine-fueled self prefers. This isn't the kind of market where you want to be guessing; better to wait for the market to show its hand.

Gold - Short Term Retracement Scenario

Watching $XAUUSD here carefully. After that run, we've settled a bit. I'm seeing a potential for a deeper retracement towards the $2280-2290 area. It's a key zone for me, coinciding with a few technical elements. If we hold that, could be a decent base for another push. The risk to this idea, obviously, is a quick break below that level. If $2280 doesn't hold, then we're likely looking at $2250 or lower, and my short-term outlook shifts considerably.

XAUUSD Holding 2300 Again

Watching $XAUUSD here. We've seen a pretty consistent bounce off the 2300-2305 area for the past few sessions. It feels like there's some underlying bid whenever we test that level, which suggests some institutional interest or simply a technical floor for now. The risk, as I see it, would be a clean break and hold below 2295. If that happens, especially on a daily close, I'd have to re-evaluate the bullish bias from this zone. It's held, but not with extreme conviction, so I'm not ruling out a deeper move if that support cracks.

Watching $XAUUSD around 2300, a bit of a sticky wicket

Been keeping an eye on Gold ($XAUUSD) lately, and it's starting to feel like we're approaching a decision point around the 2300 level. It's been pretty resilient, shrugging off some hawkish Fed speak that would typically send it lower, which is interesting in itself. On the daily, we've got some consolidation happening just above what I'd consider a key support zone, roughly 2280-2300.

My take is that a sustained break below 2280, especially if it coincides with dollar strength, would invalidate the current sideways chop and suggest a deeper correction. We've seen it flirt with that level a few times, but the buyers seem to step in. Conversely, a clean break and hold above 2315 could signal a retest of recent highs. Not putting all my eggs in one basket, but I'm certainly not making any aggressive moves here until we get more clarity. It's a tricky market right now, plenty of crosscurrents. Anyone else seeing something similar, or am I just staring at charts for too long?

XAUUSD - Watching that 1980 area closely

Been looking at $XAUUSD here and it's holding just above 1980 after that recent pullback. It's an interesting spot because we've seen it act as both resistance and support several times over the past few months. If it can maintain this level, then a retest of 2000 or even higher seems plausible, especially with the dollar showing some cracks.

However, if it fails to hold 1980 and starts closing below it consistently, say a daily close under 1975, then my bullish bias for the immediate term is off. That would open the door for a move down towards the 1950s, possibly even 1930. Just keeping an eye on the candles there, no predictions, just reacting to price action.

Thoughts on Gold's Recent Bounce and Resistance

Hey everyone, been watching $XAUUSD closely and that bounce off the 1900 area was interesting, especially considering the broader market sentiment. I'm now looking at the 1935-1940 zone as a key resistance. It feels like a significant hurdle we need to clear decisively for any sustained upward move. If we see a solid close above that, I'd start to get more bullish on a retest of 1960+. However, a rejection there, or if we fail to hold above 1920, would definitely make me cautious, suggesting we might retest the recent lows, or even deeper. Just my read, curious to hear what others are seeing.

Thoughts on XAUUSD and that 200-day SMA

Been watching gold fairly closely lately, especially with all the noise around inflation and rate expectations. One thing that really stands out to me on the daily chart for XAUUSD is the persistent flirtation with the 200-day simple moving average. We’ve seen it act as pretty solid support for a while now, holding off any deeper dives. However, the last few touches have felt a bit weaker, almost like the bounces are losing steam.

My current scenario is that if we get a decisive close below the 200-day, say around the current 2040 area, and fail to reclaim it quickly, that could signal a more significant shift in the short-to-medium term trend. The risk to this scenario, of course, is if we get some unexpected geopolitical event or a sudden shift in Fed rhetoric that sends a rush back into safe havens, pushing us back above that level convincingly. Without that, though, a sustained break feels like it opens the door to revisiting the 1980-2000 range. Just my two cents, always open to hearing different perspectives.

XAUUSD - Watching 2320/2300 as key support post-drop

Been watching XAUUSD pretty closely after that aggressive leg down. For me, the area around 2320-2300 is going to be crucial. We saw some decent rejection there earlier, and if we retest that zone and fail to hold, I'm thinking we could see a deeper correction towards 2280, possibly even 2250. The invalidation for my current short-term idea of 'finding a bottom' here would be a sustained break and close below 2300. Above 2340 and things start looking a bit more constructive for bulls again, but until then, that lower support holds the key.

XAUUSD - Watching 1720-1730 for confirmation

Been looking at $XAUUSD for a potential bounce scenario this week, particularly after the recent dip. The 1720-1730 zone is what I'm focused on; it served as pretty significant support back in August and early September before the breakdown. We've seen some attempts to reclaim it, but nothing sustained. If we can get a clean break and hold above 1730 with decent volume, it might suggest a move back towards the 1750-1760 area. The risk for this idea, obviously, is a sustained break below 1715. If we start closing daily candles under that, my conviction for any immediate upward movement is gone, and I'd be looking for a retest of the recent lows around 1700, or even lower. The broader macroeconomic picture still feels bearish for non-yield assets, but these short-term technical plays can offer opportunities.

XAUUSD eyeing 1985 again

Seems like XAUUSD is once again testing the waters around the 1985 level. We've seen rejection there a few times now, so I'm watching closely to see if it can develop any real traction this time. A clean break and hold above 1990 would suggest a move towards 2000 is on the cards, but a failure here could easily see us drift back towards the 1965 support. The key risk for me is if it gets stuck in choppy action around 1985 without a clear decision.

1

XAUUSD approaching a decision point around 2300

Been watching XAUUSD pretty closely the past few days. It's really hugging that 2300 level. To me, that seems to be a significant psychological and technical barrier right now. If we get a sustained break above it, I'd expect some follow-through to the upside, potentially testing 2320-2330. However, if it fails to hold, especially on a retest after a brief breach, then a move back down towards 2280 isn't out of the question.

The risk here, as always, is the daily close. A strong close significantly above or below 2300 would give a clearer picture. Intraday noise around this level is to be expected, so I'm personally not putting too much weight on quick wicks. Any major news out of the US could easily invalidate this whole setup.

Watching Gold's reaction around the 2300 mark

Hey all, been keeping a close eye on $XAUUSD lately. We've seen some pretty choppy action, but what's really catching my attention is how it's behaving around the 2300 level. It's almost acting like a magnet, with pushes below often finding support and bounces off it struggling to gain significant traction. I'm curious if others are seeing this as a key pivot. My current read is that sustained breaks above 2300 with decent volume could open up a move towards the 2330-2340 area, but a decisive daily close below 2280 would probably invalidate that scenario for me, potentially signaling a deeper retracement. Just my two cents, still learning to make sense of these complex moves.

XAUUSD - Eyeing 2300/2305 as a potential retest area

Watching $XAUUSD closely here. That rejection from the 2350-2360 zone was pretty sharp, and we've since broken through 2320 support. Now looking at 2300-2305 as a key area. If we retest that zone and fail to hold, especially on any hawkish fed rhetoric coming out this week, I'd lean towards further downside, potentially back towards 2280. Invalidated if we decisively reclaim 2320 and hold above it; that would suggest this pullback was shallower than anticipated.
