KYB/AML for cross-border B2B payments – navigating the labyrinth

It's always a treat trying to onboard a new corporate client based in a jurisdiction that views 'documentation' as more of a suggestion than a requirement. We're seeing an uptick in cross-border B2B payments, which is great for business, but the varying AML/KYB requirements are becoming a proper headache. Each new market seems to have its own flavor of 'proof of existence' and 'source of funds' that makes you wonder if they're intentionally trying to invent new forms of bureaucratic torture.

Anyone finding a robust way to standardize or at least streamline the KYB process when dealing with a multitude of international entities, particularly those in less 'transparent' regions? It feels like we're constantly reinventing the wheel with each new onboarding, and the compliance team is starting to look a bit haggard.

Agreed. The fragmented regulatory landscape is a massive bottleneck. We've considered specializing our offerings by region just to avoid the never-ending KYB merry-go-round for obscure jurisdictions.
