Onboarding Friction for OTC Desks and Payment Processors

Curious to hear about others' recent experiences navigating the onboarding process for new liquidity providers or payment processors, specifically for those operating within the crypto space or handling higher volumes of cross-border payments. We've been evaluating a few new partners to diversify our payout routes and enhance our overall liquidity pool, and the KYC/KYB hurdles seem to be getting increasingly complex.

Beyond the sheer volume of documentation, the variability in processing times and the seemingly arbitrary requests for 'additional information' are starting to impact our operational efficiency. It feels like some institutions are still playing catch-up on understanding the specifics of digital asset businesses, leading to delays and repetitive queries. Are others finding this to be the case? Any insights on what specific pain points you've encountered and perhaps any strategies that have helped streamline these processes? We're particularly interested in how firms are managing the balance between regulatory compliance and maintaining a swift, efficient deal flow.

It's like they've decided that the best way to prevent fraud is to make it impossible for anyone, legitimate or otherwise, to actually onboard. I'm starting to think my great-grandmother's stamp collection has better KYC documentation.
