When your stop loss goes on an adventure

Had a classic $EURUSD CFD trade back in the day where I moved my stop loss, not once, but three times, trying to give the market 'just a little more room' to breathe. Turns out, that 'little more room' turned into a grand canyon of a move against me. What started as a manageable loss became a significant dent, all because I couldn't accept I was wrong. The market, it seems, has a cruel sense of humor when you negotiate with it.

It was a harsh reminder that your initial stop is there for a reason, and if you can't stick to it, you're not trading your plan, you're just hoping. The psychological component of holding onto a losing trade is far more expensive than just taking the hit and moving on. Learned that one the hard way.

Relatable. It's tough to let go when you're convinced your initial read was right, but sometimes walking away with a small loss is the biggest win.
