New here - wondering about trade journaling

asked by u/kaito_k · 1d · 3 answers

Hey everyone, just joined. Been trying to get more consistent with my trading but I feel like my journaling is all over the place. For those of you who've been around a while, what's one key thing you track in your trade journal that you found truly made a difference?

Welcome! For me, tracking the reason for the trade, both entry and exit, was a game changer. It forces you to articulate your logic and then you can review later to see if your reasoning actually played out.

Welcome! I'm pretty new too and still figuring out journaling. Do you track your emotional state at all when you enter/exit a trade? I've been told that can be really insightful.

Beyond the basic entry/exit, I found tracking the reason for the trade, and how well it aligned with my pre-defined plan, was the most impactful. It helps identify where the disconnects are.
