Feeling the burn from chasing pumps in altcoins
Been trading crypto for a bit now, mostly sticking to $BTC and $ETH, but lately, I've been lured into these smaller cap altcoin pumps. The story always sounds great, the chart looks like it's about to explode, and FOMO takes over. My most recent painful lesson was jumping into something like $XVG after seeing it spike 30% in an hour, thinking it had more legs. It didn't. Got absolutely rekt. It dumped almost immediately after my entry, and I moved my stop way too far down, hoping for a recovery that never came. Ended up taking a much bigger hit than I planned, essentially giving back a week's worth of solid $BTC gains. The temptation to chase those explosive moves is real, but it's a guaranteed way to bleed capital if you're not disciplined. Need to get back to my core strategy and stop letting emotion dictate trades. Anyone else find themselves doing this lately with the altcoin buzz?
