KYC Automation and Evolving AML Landscape

Anyone else noticing a significant uptick in KYC/KYB automation solutions being pitched lately? It's great to see tech addressing what can be a significant bottleneck, but I'm curious about the real-world efficacy in flagging subtle AML red flags versus the old-fashioned manual deep dive. With new regulations seemingly dropping every other month, the goalposts keep shifting, making me wonder if these systems are truly keeping pace or just adding another layer of compliance theater. Navigating varied jurisdictional requirements only adds to the fun, doesn't it?

Yeah, it definitely feels like every other day there's a new vendor popping up. I think the automation is huge for volume and obvious flags, but for the really nuanced stuff, I still wonder if a human eye isn't somewhat indispensable, especially with how creative some of these illicit schemes can get.

The automation certainly speeds things up, but I'm with you on the subtlety point. Algorithms are great for pattern recognition, but truly novel or complex money laundering schemes still often need a human analyst to connect the dots. It's a tool, not a replacement.
