Onboarding & Settlement Hurdles with Crypto PSPs
Been diving deeper into the crypto payment processing space lately, specifically for e-commerce integration for a new venture. The initial setup and KYB processes are wildly inconsistent across various PSPs offering crypto settlement. Some are relatively smooth, almost on par with traditional fiat processors, while others feel like pulling teeth – endless documentation requests, unclear timelines, and often, a distinct lack of direct human contact when you hit a snag.
Beyond onboarding, I'm finding a pretty broad spectrum in settlement times and fee structures for converting crypto back to fiat. Liquidity seems to be a real factor here, and some of the smaller players seem to be taking a hefty cut or sitting on funds longer than promised. It's making me wonder if the 'cost savings' touted by some crypto PSPs are actually eaten up by these hidden inefficiencies and slower settlement cycles, especially when dealing with larger transaction volumes. Anyone else experiencing this or found a reliable way to vet these providers beyond just their advertised rates?
That's consistent with what I've seen. The maturity of these services varies wildly, and it's often hard to gauge the true operational efficiency until you're deep into their onboarding process.
