Onboarding Friction for High-Volume FX/Crypto in EU
Curious if others are seeing increased friction onboarding with payment service providers for anything involving significant FX volume or crypto payouts in the EU lately. Seems like the hoops to jump through for KYB have gotten a fair bit tighter, and even for established entities with clean records, the back-and-forth can add weeks to a process that used to be relatively quick. It's not just a single provider; seeing a trend across a few I've engaged with recently.
Specifically, the granularity of source-of-funds documentation for large-ticket client payouts seems to be a recurring point of contention, even when dealing with regulated exchanges or institutional partners. Is this the new normal, or are there specific regions or types of providers where the process remains more streamlined for high-frequency or high-value payment flows?
It's almost as if 'know your business' translates directly to 'delay your business' these days. You'd think being an established entity would fast-track things, but apparently, it just means you're good for more paperwork.
