Prop Firm Infrastructure: Broker choice and payout friction

Anyone else finding the actual broker connection a huge pain point with some prop firms? Not talking about the trading itself, but the backend stuff. I've had firms tout their 'low spreads' only to realize it's a sub-account of some obscure broker with huge slippage or insane markups on $EURUSD during news. Then there's the payout side. Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through, inconsistent processing times, or sudden 'compliance checks' when you try to withdraw anything substantial. Are we just accepting this as the cost of doing business, or are there firms truly streamlining this for experienced traders?

The broker issue is real. Many prop firms just white-label some B-book operation and call it low spread. Always check the actual execution and not just the quoted numbers. Payouts are another hurdle, often designed to make you jump through hoops until you blow the account.
