Prop Firm Infrastructure: Broker Choice & Payout Reliability

Anyone else finding themselves spending an inordinate amount of time vetting the back-end infrastructure of these prop firms lately? It's one thing to assess the challenge itself, but the brokerages they're linked with, payment service providers, and ultimately, the payout process are becoming increasingly opaque. I'm less concerned with an extra few pips on a spread and more about the systemic risk of having significant notional capital tied up with an entity that struggles with basic KYB or consistently has issues processing withdrawals. Had a recent experience where a payout was delayed for nearly two weeks with minimal communication, which just breeds a lack of confidence. Are we seeing a race to the bottom on the ops side, or are there firms genuinely prioritizing robust, transparent infrastructure for payouts and liquidity management? Curious about others' experiences here, especially with the smaller, newer players in the space.

It's almost as if some of these prop firms are less interested in reliable payouts and more interested in seeing how many hoops they can make us jump through. Good luck figuring out if their broker is a legitimate entity or just a guy named Dave with a server in his basement.
