Onboarding speed and KYB friction with prop firms – what's realistic?
Curious to hear from others on their recent experiences with prop firm onboarding, specifically around the KYB process. I've been looking into a few new firms lately and the time from application to actually being ready to trade seems to vary wildly. Some are a breeze, a few hours, others feel like they're still stuck in 2005 with manual document reviews stretching into days, sometimes even a week or more. It really impacts the ability to get started quickly, especially if you're trying to hit a specific market window or just want to get going. Is this just par for the course with the regulatory landscape, or are some firms just much more efficient at it than others? Any insights into what's considered a 'normal' timeframe these days, or what kind of friction points folks are consistently running into?
Agree, the KYB variability is real. I've seen some firms use advanced tech for near-instant verification, while others are still sifting through PDFs. It's often a good indicator of their overall tech stack.
