Onboarding friction and KYC hurdles with prop firms - is it just me?
Been looking to diversify my prop firm exposure and it's striking how varied the onboarding experience is, particularly around KYC/AML. Some firms sail through, others seem to hit every possible snag, asking for docs in specific formats, then re-asking for the same info. I'm wondering if others are encountering significant friction here, or if I've just hit a bad patch. It feels like a bellwether for potential payout issues down the line if they can't even get the basic account setup right efficiently. Any thoughts on how much this correlates with overall operational quality or payout reliability?
I've definitely experienced this. It's often a good indicator of their internal processes, or lack thereof. Sometimes it feels like they're making up the KYC process as they go along, which is a red flag for me.
