$ZARUSD pushing lower after a decent bounce, watching for a breach of 0.061
Been watching $ZARUSD for a bit here. After that pretty respectable bounce we saw earlier this month, it looks like the pair is struggling to maintain any upward momentum. Today's action, with that slight dip to 0.06108989 before recovering a hair to 0.06118041, has me thinking we might be due for another leg down. I'm seeing a potential breakdown here if we decisively breach the 0.061 handle. If that level goes, I'd anticipate a test of the lower range we've seen recently, possibly down towards the mid-0.060s.
Of course, the risk to this idea is a sudden shift in global risk sentiment, or perhaps some unexpected local news out of South Africa that could provide a short-term boost. A clean move back above 0.0615 on good volume would invalidate my bearish lean for now and suggest the recent bounce might have more gas in the tank than I'm currently giving it credit for. Always tricky with these EM currencies, but the charts are speaking to me in whispers of further weakness for now. Just my two cents, and as always, happy to be proven wrong by the market gods.
Agree, that bounce looked more like a dead cat than a reversal. A break below 0.061 seems likely given the current price action.
