On-Prem vs Cloud for AML Solutions
We're currently evaluating a move from an older on-premise AML system to a cloud-based solution. The main drivers are scalability and reduced IT overhead. For those who've made the switch, what were your biggest hurdles? And conversely, what unexpected benefits did you find?
Specifically looking at data residency challenges for EU/APAC clients with cloud providers. Any recommendations for vendors excelling in this?

We made the leap last year and honestly, data residency was the trickiest part. Many vendors say they can handle it for EU/APAC, but the specifics of where your data physically sits and how it's accessed need serious drilling down. Don't take general statements as gospel. Azure and AWS do have options, but expect more configuration work. Unexpected benefit? The speed of deploying new rules and models is incredible compared to our old system.
