Scaling KYC/AML for multi-jurisdictional fintech operations
We're currently navigating the complexities of scaling our fintech platform across several new jurisdictions, each with its own nuances regarding KYC and AML requirements. The operational overhead for managing these disparate regulations, from data residency to specific document verification processes, is becoming quite significant. I'm curious how others in this room are approaching the challenge of standardizing as much as possible while remaining fully compliant with local mandates. Is there a tipping point where outsourcing some of these functions becomes more efficient than building an internal, globally-aware compliance team?
This is a huge one. We've seen some success centralizing core data and using a modular rules engine to adapt to jurisdiction-specific requirements rather than entirely separate stacks.
