Thoughts on Kalshi's regulatory environment vs. traditional markets
Been spending a good bit of time on Kalshi lately, mostly looking at some of the macro-oriented contracts, particularly those tied to economic releases. It's fascinating how the regulatory clarity, or at least the perception of it, really changes the feel compared to some of the more speculative, unregulated prediction markets out there. While you don't get the insane leverage of, say, a crypto perpetual, the ability to put capital into clear, binary event outcomes with defined terms and oversight feels... cleaner. I'm curious if others see this as a significant differentiator for larger capital allocation. The regulated part is key, I think, especially when you consider how quickly things can move in other venues. For instance, watching the $USDMXN action today around 17.3047, seeing it swing between 17.284 and 17.345, you appreciate the clear-cut 'yes' or 'no' of an event contract.
It's interesting how that regulatory framework might actually broaden participation. Do you find the volume and liquidity on these macro contracts sufficient for consistent trading, or are they still quite thin compared to traditional futures on similar economic data?
