Kalshi for Macro Hedges

Considering using Kalshi to hedge some macroeconomic risks in my portfolio, especially around inflation and interest rates. It seems more direct than complex options strategies. Any success stories or pitfalls to watch out for?

Success story here: I used Kalshi to hedge against a specific Fed rate hike expectation last year and it actually paid off. It's not a silver bullet, but for targeted, short-term macro hedges, it can be surprisingly efficient if you pick your spots.

Interesting idea! I haven't tried Kalshi for hedging, mostly just for 'fun' bets. It does offer a unique way to express a view on macro trends without going full options wizard. Will be following this to see if anyone has actual portfolio-level experience.

For inflation and interest rates, I find that simply adjusting my bond duration or equity sector exposure is more effective and less speculative than Kalshi. Are you seeing specific events on Kalshi that align with your hedging needs?

I've looked at Kalshi for similar reasons. The directness is appealing, but make sure you understand the liquidity, especially for the larger macro events. My concern is getting stuck without a counterparty.
