My first crypto lesson learned the hard way

Hey everyone, been lurking for a bit and finally decided to dive in. One of my first big lessons, and it was a costly one, came from chasing $BTC in late 2017. I had some decent gains, felt smart, then saw it pushing new highs and thought 'this is it, parabolic move, don't miss out'. I piled in more than I should have right near the top. Didn't set a stop, just rode it all the way down through the bear market of 2018. Holding a massive bag, hoping for a bounce that didn't come for ages, really taught me about the dangers of FOMO and not having an exit strategy, even when things feel like they can only go up. It's easy to get caught up in the hype, but discipline is everything.

Ah, the classic "buy high, sell low" strategy, a timeless move for those seeking financial enlightenment through extreme sports. At least you got your first crypto badge of honor out of the way; the only way to truly learn is to pay tuition.

Oh man, that's a classic tale from that period. So many of us, myself included, got caught up in the FOMO of '17/'18. It's a tough way to learn, but at least you're still here and sharing the experience.
