My lesson on cutting losses fast and without hesitation

Hey everyone, thought I'd share a quick intro and a lesson that's been hammered home for me recently. I've been in the market for about five years now, mostly focusing on equities and some forex with $EURUSD and $GBPUSD. My biggest mistake has consistently been letting losers run, hoping for a turnaround that rarely comes. I had a position last month that went south pretty quickly, and instead of taking the small hit, I held on, rationalizing that it was just a temporary dip. Ended up having to take a much larger loss than necessary, all because I hesitated to hit that sell button when my initial stop level was breached. It's a classic, I know, but sometimes you just need to experience it firsthand to really learn.
