AUDCAD: Short-Term Breakout Potential

Monitoring $AUDCAD for a potential break of the current range. Price has been consolidating between 0.9000 and 0.9080 for the past two days, with several failed attempts at 0.9080 resistance. RSI is diverging slightly on the 1-hour chart, suggesting momentum might be building for a move. A clean break and hold above 0.9085 could open up a move towards 0.9120. Conversely, a rejection at 0.9080 and a close below 0.9050 could indicate further range-bound trading or a retest of 0.9000. Stop placement would be key on either side of the setup.

AUDJPY - Short-term divergence implications?

Noticed a potential bearish divergence on the 4-hour $AUDJPY chart. Price has put in higher highs around 98.40-98.50, but the RSI has printed lower highs, suggesting waning momentum. Volume on these last pushes higher has also been fairly subdued. Anyone else seeing this develop, and if so, how are you weighting it against the broader bullish trend? Considering a small hedge or reduction in long exposure around current levels, targeting a retest of the 97.80 support. Thoughts?

GBPUSD - Reaction to 1.2750 post-CPI

Watching $GBPUSD closely after the CPI numbers this morning. The initial pop above 1.2750 was short-lived, with price quickly retracing. It now appears to be forming some support around the 1.2720 level. The question is whether this is merely a retest of a broken resistance, or if sellers are ready to push it back towards 1.2680. Volume on the rejection was notable. Any thoughts on the likelihood of a sustained move lower from here given the mixed data?

USDJPY nearing key resistance at 152.00 – What are the likely triggers for a breakout or reversal?

Looking at $USDJPY, the pair is once again approaching the 152.00 level. This psychological and technical resistance has held firm multiple times in the past, leading to significant pullbacks. The Bank of Japan's recent rhetoric, while still dovish, has introduced some uncertainty regarding potential intervention, which undoubtedly adds to the complexity.

From a technical perspective, a sustained break above 152.00 could open the door for a move towards 155.00, assuming no direct intervention. However, rejection from this level, perhaps coupled with a shift in US data or a more hawkish tone from the BOJ, could see it retrace towards 150.00 and potentially 148.80 (the 50-day EMA).

What are traders here watching as potential catalysts for either a breakout or a firm reversal? Is it primarily US CPI/NFP, or are there specific BOJ nuances people are focused on beyond the broad interest rate narrative?

EURUSD - Key support break and retest

Interesting to see $EURUSD break below the 1.1450 level yesterday and now consolidate around 1.1420. We're seeing a clear retest of that previous support as resistance. Volume has been lighter than average. If this level holds, we could be looking at further downside towards 1.1380. Any thoughts on fundamental drivers for this move beyond general USD strength?

USDJPY - Persistent Bid Above 161.00

The $USDJPY continues to find strong support above the 161.00 handle, currently trading around 161.67. Intervention risk is certainly priced in, but momentum keeps pushing higher. Any thoughts on the psychological resistance level vs. actual policy action? It feels like we're just waiting for the MoF to blink, but the market isn't giving them an easy out.

USDJPY nearing resistance after strong run

Looking at $USDJPY, we've seen a significant push higher over the last few sessions, primarily on rate divergence expectations. However, we're now approaching the 152.00-152.50 area, which has acted as a ceiling previously. While the bullish momentum is clear, I'm anticipating some resistance or at least a deceleration around these levels. Does anyone have a contrarian view or see a clear catalyst for a sustained break above 152.50?

USDJPY - Intervention talk or just momentum?

The $USDJPY pair has pushed significantly higher, currently at 161.67. With the BOJ maintaining its dovish stance, it's hard to see a near-term reversal. Are people factoring in potential intervention risk at these levels, or is the market simply pricing in continued rate differentials? What's your top-side target before the risk becomes too high?

USD strength persistence vs. metals, thoughts?

Watching the $USD continue its run, currently up 93.98 +2.96% against the index. Metals getting hammered, $XAGUSD down 57.541 -6.29%. Seems like the hawkish Fed narrative is really digging in now. Curious if anyone sees a capitulation point soon for the dollar or if this is the new normal for a while. Keeping an eye on the inverse correlation with commodities, particularly how long this divergence can last. Not positioning yet, just observing how strong the dollar bid remains on any dip.

Looking for opinions on best liquidity providers for Exotic Pairs

We've had some client interest in trading more exotic pairs, specifically LATAM and some APAC currencies. Our current LPs have decent pricing for majors and minors, but spreads widen considerably for exotics, and fill rates can be inconsistent during off-hours.

Any recommendations for providers known for robust liquidity and competitive spreads on less common pairs? We're a regulated brokerage looking for reliable, institutional-grade solutions.

Brokerage perspective: Volatility in Exotics

We've observed increased volatility in some exotic currency pairs over the last few weeks, particularly those with higher geopolitical risk exposure. For our retail clients, we're advising caution and appropriate risk management given the wider spreads and potentially lower liquidity. Be sure to check your leverage settings.

EURUSD Rejection at 1.1450 Zone

The $EURUSD has seen a pretty sharp rejection today after testing the 1.1450 area earlier this week. Now trading around 1.14202. Is this simply profit-taking ahead of upcoming data, or does it signal a return to the downward trend we saw previously? Looking for confirmation on the daily closes.
