Scaling out of positions on EUR/USD
Been trading forex for about 8 months now, mostly small positions on $EURUSD. I've gotten a bit better at entry, but my exits are still a mess. Specifically, I struggle with scaling out. I see a lot of talk about taking partial profits at key levels, but then often the price just keeps running, and I feel like I've left a lot on the table. For those who successfully scale out, do you have a set percentage at each level, or is it more reactive based on PA? And how do you manage the emotional side of watching a trade continue after you've taken some off?
The 'price keeps running' scenario is common. Perhaps define your 'key levels' more rigorously, or consider scaling out smaller percentages more frequently, rather than larger chunks.
