CAD looking interesting after BoC comments yesterday

Caught the tail end of some BoC commentary yesterday and it really had me thinking about $CAD. With their nuanced tone on inflation and growth, it feels like they're trying to keep their options open more than ever. I'm now leaning towards looking for longer-term $CAD shorts, especially against some of the stronger safe-haven currencies, should we see any further data weakness from Canada.

That's an interesting take. I'm curious what specific parts of the commentary led you to a longer-term short view on CAD, especially against safe-havens. Were there any particular phrases or outlooks that stood out to you?

It's always fun when central bankers use 'nuanced tone' as a euphemism for 'we have no idea what's happening either.' Good luck with those CAD shorts; might be a race to the bottom.
