CAD strength following BoC comments and what it means for EUR/CAD
Been watching the $CADUSD closely today, especially after some of the more hawkish tones out of the BoC speakers. It's up nicely to 0.72071, which is a pretty solid move from the earlier lows of 0.7176. That kind of action definitely makes you wonder about the broader implications, particularly for crosses.
I've been looking at $EURCAD for a potential short opportunity if this CAD strength has legs. It's currently at 1.6042, and while the daily range looks pretty flat right now, if the market starts pricing in a wider divergence in monetary policy, that could provide some downward pressure. The $USDX is also ticking up a bit, which usually helps USD, but the CAD seems to be holding its own. Just curious if others are seeing this play out similarly and if the 1.6000 level on $EURCAD is a meaningful area to watch.
