Thoughts on the CAD strength after BoC comments and what it means for USD pairs

Watching the CAD today, it's been interesting to see how it's reacting to the recent comments from the Bank of Canada. They're still sounding pretty hawkish, or at least not rushing to cut, which seems to be giving the CAD some underlying strength. We're seeing $CADUSD trading around 0.71078, which is on the higher end of its daily range. It's not a massive move, but it's consistent with a narrative of continued support for the loonie.

This kind of divergence in central bank rhetoric is always a key driver for FX pairs. If the BoC stays firm while other central banks are signaling more dovish shifts, it could create some interesting opportunities. I'm keeping an eye on how this plays out, particularly against the USD. The $USDMXN pair, currently at 17.242, is also on my watchlist, though the drivers there are a bit more nuanced than just Canadian monetary policy. Just thinking out loud about how these larger macro themes influence what we're looking at on the charts.

Definitely agree on the BoC's hawkish tone providing some tailwind for CAD. I'm curious if anyone's looking at how that might impact other CAD crosses, not just USD/CAD. Could we see some interesting setups there too?

The BoC's stance certainly provides some support, but with global economic uncertainties, any sustained CAD strength against the USD might be a tougher climb than the initial reaction suggests.
