Fed comments and their downstream effect on DeFi appetite
Watching the market's reaction to the hawkish Fed speak yesterday, it's clear the higher-for-longer narrative is sticking, or at least being priced in for now. $SPCX got hammered, down 2.68% and sitting at 115.07. You see a similar story across the board, risk-off in full effect. This kind of environment just sucks the air out of the room for higher-risk plays, which let's be honest, a lot of DeFi still is.
I'm finding myself trimming exposure on anything with even a whiff of unsustainability in its yield. The days of chasing speculative APRs are definitely on hold for me. Focusing more on stablecoin yield or robust, battle-tested protocols with real utility, less dependent on a perpetual bull market. Less exciting, maybe, but I'd rather be holding something that can weather the storm than chasing pumps in a market where even the big boys like $SPCX are struggling to hold their ground. Just my two cents on navigating this choppier water in DeFi.
