Anyone else finding KYB for new PSPs a quagmire lately?
It feels like every payment service provider or brokerage onboarding process has gotten significantly more onerous in the last six months. What used to be a week or two for full integration and live payouts is now pushing into months, even for established entities with clean records. The level of documentation requested, particularly around ultimate beneficial ownership and source of funds for operating capital, not just client money, seems to have escalated. We're spending an inordinate amount of internal resource just navigating these hoops, which directly impacts our time-to-market for new ventures or diversifying our liquidity streams. Is this a new regulatory push, or are providers just getting more conservative across the board due to perceived systemic risk? Would be interested to hear if others are experiencing similar friction, especially with new partners in Europe or APAC.
Totally agree. It feels like regulators are really tightening the screws, especially on beneficial ownership. We've seen similar delays, even with all our ducks in a row.
