The siren song of 'just a little bit more' in crypto

My biggest wallet shrinker in crypto wasn't a sudden crash or a rug pull, but the slow, insidious bleed of 'just one more trade.' I'd be up a respectable amount on $ETH or $SOL, had a clear target in mind, and then some internal demon would whisper about how much more I could make if I just squeezed another 5% out of it. Instead of booking the profit and walking away, I'd move my stop up, tighten it, convince myself I could manage the scalp, only to see the inevitable wick take me out for a significantly smaller gain, or worse, a small loss. The actual mistake wasn't the small loss, but the complete disregard for my original plan and the psychological cost of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It’s like getting a perfect poker hand, then trying to bluff the river for more than the pot and losing everything to a weak call. Greed, plain and simple, dressed up as 'optimizing profit.'

This is a classic and very relatable experience. It's often the hardest lesson to learn: knowing when to walk away from a winning position is just as crucial as knowing when to enter. The greed for that 'extra 5%' often erases a substantial portion of the original gain.
