The price of getting cute with stops on BTC

Thought I'd share a recent, painful lesson from a $BTC trade. Had a solid long setup from the low 60s, good volume confirmation, and was riding it nicely. My initial stop was logically placed below a key structural support. As price moved up towards 67k, I started getting antsy, wanting to 'lock in' more profit, and moved my stop tighter, just below the previous hourly swing low. Classic rookie error, trying to get cute with a stop that was still too close to active price discovery. We then saw that quick, sharp flush down through 65k, triggered me out for a small profit, only for the market to immediately bounce aggressively back through 68k within the next couple of hours. I ended up missing a significant portion of the move because I interfered with my original, well-thought-out plan. The cost wasn't just the profit lost on that specific trade, but the mental hurdle of re-entering higher, which I ultimately didn't do with conviction. Stick to the plan, let the market breathe, and don't get greedy with stops that haven't had time to develop new, robust structure to protect.
