On-chain metrics and that 'realized price' thing – am I overthinking it?

Been looking at some of the on-chain stuff for $BTC and trying to wrap my head around 'realized price.' Seems like a solid concept for identifying capitulation zones, but sometimes it feels like I'm trying to read tea leaves. How much weight do you guys actually put on it when making decisions, or is it more of a confirmation signal for something else?

It's interesting, but I've found that by the time 'realized price' clearly signals capitulation, the market has often already moved a bit. More of a historical indicator than a predictive one for me.

I think it's definitely a useful tool for getting a sense of market sentiment and potential support levels, but like you said, maybe not the be-all and end-all. I tend to use it more as a confirmation rather than a primary signal for trade entries.

Realized price is useful for historical context, but relying on it alone for real-time trading decisions seems risky. It's backward-looking, and while capitulation might align with it, that doesn't guarantee a bottom. Perhaps consider what other metrics confirm or contradict its signal.
