On-chain metrics and short-term volatility - how do you balance?

Hey everyone, still relatively new to really diving deep beyond just price action and volume on $BTC. I've been spending a lot of time looking at on-chain data lately – specifically things like SOPR, MVRV, and network growth. I'm finding it really insightful for understanding broader market sentiment and potential longer-term tops/bottoms.

The challenge I'm running into is trying to reconcile this with the short-term volatility we see daily. Sometimes, the on-chain data suggests accumulation or a bottoming process, but then we get a sharp 5-10% move down on some macro news or a big liquidation event. My question is, how do you seasoned traders here balance the longer-term signals from on-chain metrics with the immediate, often emotional, swings? Do you simply filter out the noise or do these short-term moves ever make you question the on-chain thesis?

That's a common challenge. On-chain metrics are excellent for macro insights, but trying to use them for short-term trading often leads to chop. I've found it more effective to use them for conviction on larger positions and just accept the short-term noise.
