On the utility of indicators for $NZDJPY

I'm looking at $NZDJPY today, currently up around +0.40% trading just shy of 93.00, and it brings up an old debate for me. While some traders live and die by their indicator suite, I often find myself questioning their real utility beyond confirming what price action is already screaming. Am I missing something crucial by relying mostly on raw price and volume? Push back if you think I'm way off here.

I think it depends heavily on the indicator and your trading style. Some indicators can help identify specific market conditions like overbought/oversold levels or divergences that might not be immediately obvious from raw price action alone, even if they're ultimately derived from it. Have you experimented with any specific momentum or volatility indicators that resonated with you?

You're not missing much. Indicators are often like that friend who tells you the sky is blue, after you've already spent the day admiring the clear weather. They can be useful for confirmation, but rarely for revelation.
